Project ECHO recently renovated an old building to open a thrift store but as a non-profit our budget is always very limited. Floor Systems, Inc generously donated the flooring we needed and two of their installers donated their labor. They did a fantastic job and our floors look great. I had Shaw LifeProof carpet installed by Floor Systems about 8 months ago. The selection process in-store was very simple and the salesman Bruce was very helpful. My carpet was installed within one week of ordering a carpet which I thought would be very durable and high quality. Unfortunately when the carpet arrived I was very disappointed to see how thin it was. The quality of the Shaw carpet is no fault of Floor Systems however the installation went very badly. The installer admitted that he had never seen a carpet with a waterproof backing like my LifeProof carpet and that he had to watch a video on how to install it before he came that morning which raised a red flag for me. The stairs had several very large wrinkles and the carpet was not stretched properly in many areas in the bedrooms causing it to move significantly when stepped on. Floor Systems sent back the same installer the next day to fix the wrinkles after he had admitted that he didnt know how to lay the carpet and that it was a very difficult product to install. After only 6 months the seems are visible and wrinkling. Floor systems sent out a crew to restretch the carpet in a timely manner which I really appreciated and resolved the problem completely. This is carpet that I hoped would last 10 years and I worry that the problems Ive had thus far are only the begining. I wish I had known when ordering that the product was so new that they didnt have anyone who knew how to properly install it.
